Godly Play Network Groups

Godly Play network groups support practitioners so that they develop their practice in community with others. They meet under the direction of a Regional Trainer, but may be led by Advocates. Frequency of meeting will depend on the membership of the group and what works best for them.

If you are in Scotland, we encourage you to make contact with our friends in Godly Play Scotland.

Birmingham Godly Play Network

We are a multi-denominational group who get together termly to share our experiences, receive mutual support and encouragement for our practice and experience a story told by a member of the group. We meet from 7.30 – 9.00 in the Northfield area of Birmingham – and there is always cake! Everyone is welcome to join us whether you’ve been on a taster session, a 3-day course or are just interested.

Norfolk Godly Play Network

We exist to connect those from across Norfolk and the surrounding area who use or are interested in Godly Play. The network provides an opportunity for sharing a Godly Play story, wondering together and discussing ideas, resources and the experiences people have of using Godly Play in different contexts.

The network aims to meet 2 times a year and is hosted in different locations to help make the meetings accessible to people from across the county.

The network meeting is free to attend and has a relaxed atmosphere to share refreshments and meet others. It is open to anyone whether a regular storyteller, infrequent storyteller or exploring Godly Play for the first time.

North East of England Godly Play Network

We are an ecumenical group covering a large geographical area, currently drawing on our ‘membership’ from Sunderland to Berwick-upon-Tweed, Monkseaton to Bardon Mill and beyond. We meet most months during term time; our regular meeting place is now St James’ and St Basil’s Church in Fenham NE4 9XP. Occasionally (usually in the summer months) we hold our monthly meetings in other locations across the north east; these have included Sunderland, Percy Main, Monkseaton, Ryton, Hexham and Warkworth.

Our meetings are usually take place in the evening, between 7:30pm and 9/9:30pm. During this time we share a Godly Play story and (verbal) wondering, we have the opportunity to debrief the story telling and then share a feast, using the social time to support and learn from each other. These sessions are open both to experienced Godly Play practitioners and to newcomers to Godly Play – we intend them to serve as a good ‘taster’ session. We welcome anyone with an interest in, or curiosity about Godly Play.
