Are you ready?
We are gathering for a conference in 2024! The main event is on Saturday 29th June from 10 am to 4 pm at St Mary DeCrypt Church, Southgate Street, Gloucester GL1 1TP.
Our main speaker is Ian MacDonald, Laughter Enabler, Storyteller and Theologian. Ian is passionate about laughter (to this end he teaches a happiness course, is a laughter yoga instructor and a stand-up comedian) and about storytelling (trained by the Hearth Community). He teaches storytelling and is a member of the Society for Storytelling. We should have fun!
There will also be a choice of workshops, a Serendipity Stall and opportunities to meet with Godly Players from far and wide.
On Friday 28th June, there will also be workshops (10.30 am to 3.30 pm) for those interested (Trauma-informed Godly Play, Making materials, and an Introduction to Godly Play), and an informal networking event in the evening.
The venue, St Mary DeCrypt Church is in the centre of Gloucester. There is parking nearby at the Eastgate shopping centre, and other car parks within 0.5 mile walking distance. There is a train station in Gloucester and bus station opposite. It is an easy 0.4 mile walk through the town.
You will need to arrange your own accommodation, if you are staying overnight. There are hotels including Travelodge Gloucester and Premier Inn Gloucester (Quayside) within 0.5 mile from the church.
The conference and workshops are open to all, whether you have lots of experience of Godly Play or none – we look forward to seeing you!
